Route: 7 Mile Canyon, Utah Climbed: April 2, 2003 Drive dirt road. Where the good road forks take the right fork down and cross a wash. There are a couple other intersections. Eventually you go right, circle the head of a bowl and onto the mesa. Right then right again on to the long road that goes south. Near the head of the canyon a spur to left will take you down into the wash. We camped on dirt of road. Canyon: bypass some initial drops and pools on benches and get into main canyon floor. 1st rappell is a double drop, 2nd through a chockstone. We anchored on crack to left. 2nd rap is into pool. We anchored on chock stones right of large chock stone. Pool hip deep. There is an exit to right just before. 3rd rap is into pool. Anchored off large bolder 20ft back. Also chock stone at drop. Pool is hip deep. 5th class exit to right before drop. 4th difficulty is set of large blocks. pass through tunnel on right then down ramp. #2 camalot will anchor hand line. Exit to right 100 ft above drop. Pass several minor difficulties and confluence from left. 5th drop is narrow chimney into neck deep pool. Set hand line on stone at lip. Nice to have hand line above to climb up. 6th drop is ramp into narow pool under several stones. pool chest deep. anchor on stone at lip. hand line above helps up climb. Then scramble down large blocks. Usually start right then spiral down. Canyon opens and can be walked to lake. Return to above 4th drop and exit left (LUC) to rim.
