# Day 20: George Frazer Islands to Keeha Bay

Our layover day on the George Frazer Islands was scenic, and necessary. We all needed a rest after the big effort getting there. Our camp was compact...

...and only a few, horizontal, feet above the high tide line. I was entertained for a while by a river otter, and we had a mink scurry past camp just before dinner.

They tide goes out a long way at this camp, and the launch gets progressively rockier the further it goes out. So a high tide departure would be awesome, but also highly ill-timed (we could perhaps have launched from sand at 5 am). So we struggled out at 9:30 am, across the rocks...

into a nice calm sea.

The forecast promised sun and favorable winds. Both appeared as we approached our destination, so we managed perhaps 3 or 4 miles of sailing of the 18 Nm total for the day. We passed through the outer islands of the Broken Group, and had our first, and lunch, stop on Wouwer Island. We made another stop on Edward King Island, to check out a possible campsite. The scenery there, and on the other islands, was quite impressive.

We are all now surprisingly dry, and happy camped on the beach.
