Day 7: Jurassic Point

From Tom:

We paddle around a nearby island, Marked on Collins map with a castle. I imagine it’ll be the ruins of a medieval Abbey. Low stone walls not visible above the grass. But we can’t find any landing on the island to verify this.

Crossed the shore. There are many rock reefs, and we weave among these. Land where we think Jurassic creek is I walk across a broad plane of rocks, receiving a random but very thorough foot reflexology treatment. The others declined the treatment and remove our boats around the paddle up the creek.

We wash some clothing, rinse our dry suits, wash our hair, fill water, eat lunch. I think we are much like sea otters, frolicking, and some freshwater we have finally found.

We round a point enter an inlet and catch a land breeze. It pulls us into Catala Island.

This was our seventh day, completing the first quarter of our trip. In weather like this, I could do this forever. However, we have only one more day of clear weather, then several days of light rain and some contrary winds.
